Who We Are
Alliance member schools are an important and necessary part of Pennsylvania's continuum of special education programs and services that are mandated by federal law. This special status was granted by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to serve children who, by the nature, severity, and complexity of their disabilities, cannot be appropriately served in public school special education programs.

How We Help
AAPS promotes excellence in special education services for children and youth with disabilities and their families
We advocate for our students' access to the continuum of appropriate education placements and services as required by state and federal laws. All referrals and placements are in agreement with the local school district or appropriate educational agency
We assist member schools with their efforts to improve special education programs and services through shared expertise and resources
